I get asked all the time…

what kind of eggs should we be purchasing regularly and where to acquire them.

In the last 10 years I’ve worked to purchase eggs from local families in the area, not only to support our economy, but for the amazing quality of eggs and nutrients you get!!

In recent years, there has been a growing trend towards consuming small batch free range eggs, and for good reason. Not only do these eggs offer a more ethical and sustainable option for consumers, but they also provide a superior taste and nutritional profile compared to conventionally raised eggs.

Small batch free range eggs come from hens that are allowed to roam freely outdoors, forage for food, and engage in natural behaviors. This means they have a higher quality of life compared to hens kept in cramped cages or confined spaces. By choosing small batch free range eggs, you are supporting humane farming practices and helping to ensure the well-being of the animals.

But the benefits of small batch free range eggs extend beyond ethics. These eggs are typically higher in nutrients such as omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D, and antioxidants compared to conventionally raised eggs. This is because hens that have access to a more varied diet and natural sunlight produce eggs that are more nutrient-dense.

Additionally, small batch free range eggs often have a richer and more flavorful taste compared to conventional eggs. This is due to the fact that the hens are able to forage for a wider variety of foods, which can influence the flavor and color of the eggs.

In summary, small batch free range eggs offer a more ethical, sustainable, and nutritious option for consumers.

By choosing these eggs, you are not only supporting humane farming practices but also enjoying a superior taste and nutritional profile. So next time you’re in the market for eggs, consider opting for small batch free range eggs for a truly egg-ceptional experience. 😉

Lucky for us we are in a location where we’re surrounded by families that raise their own chickens and have eggs for sale! One being our very own CEO Rob Olson and his family, and our community member Emily Reznick! If you see them in the gym or online, be sure to ask if they have some eggs available for purchase. I swear you’ll never want to get your eggs any other way once you taste the difference!
